The Department of Biomedical Informatics is a department within the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Medicine, which develops computational tools to manage medical and public health information for patient care and research programs. I worked on a number of grant and informatics projects, including The Cancer Imaging Archive (TCIA).
Managed a team of 4 developers.
Developed and maintained Posda, the Perl Open-Source DICOM Archive. Posda is a tool for storing, searching, and modifying DICOM images, and aiding in the curation and de-identification of collections submitted to TCIA.
Created Kaleidoscope, a system to generate Maximum Intensity Projections to speed up visual inspection (a part of de-identification) by more than 5x.
Administered a number of Linux servers that support TCIA and Posda.
Spearheaded a project to package Posda as a Docker image, in preparation for a public release.
Used Posda and CTP (Clinical Trials Processor) to de-identify image collections submitted to TCIA according to HIPAA standards.
Mentored junior developers and staff in various areas, including Python, SQL, and systems administration.
Organized under the Arkansas Supreme Court, the AOC (Administrative Office of the Courts) maintains a state-wide Case Management System (CMS). I lead conversions from various CMS systems to ours, and I developed and maintained reports and other systems.
Lead programmer on the conversion of the largest district court in Arkansas.
Developed and maintained Oracle Reports and Jasper Reports.
Administered a number of Linux servers and services.
Developed scripts and applications to automate various maintenance activities.
Mentored new developers in Python and Oracle SQL.
Worked in the Cash Assurance department on automation projects.
Automated manual processing using AutoIt and Python.
Designed and built a web-based data tracking system in PHP and MySQL, which scaled to handle hundreds of users and thousands of entries per day.
Provided technical support and consulting to all groups in the Cash Assurance and Finance departments.
Responsible for ensuring accurate deposits from retail stores.
Designed, built and maintained custom applications for the Cash Control Department using MS Access, C#, MySQL, MS SQL and Oracle.
Automated manual processes using SQA Robot and other tools.
Administered all automated processes and Access Applications on a daily basis.
