I am a Software Engineer with strong technical leadership and management experience. I believe my main strength is the ability to align Engineering practices with the organization goals. Engineering Manager
At DigitalOcean I held different positions, ranging from Technical Leadership to People Management. While being a technical leader for the Support Tools team, I introduced the techniques of Continuous Delivery and set up the initial CI/CD platform that was later adopted by other groups in the product engineering organization. I also introduced a model used to improve the operability of our production apps, which made it possible for a small team to support a fairly complex Microservices architecture. Currently, I manage the Network Product engineering team, that is responsible for all product facing network aspects of our platform. I am responsible for the delivery aspects of our products, as well as hiring, managing and growing our team of full-stack engineers, working remotely, distributed across the United States and Germany. As part of the Networking pillar, I was able to deliver key projects successfully, such as Load Balancers, Let's Encrypt SSL Certificates, Firewalls, and internal mission-critical systems.

I led some of its Backend and Core Engineering teams during the transition from a monolithic to a microservices-based architecture. I was a hands-on Manager and Tech Lead taking care of high traffic and mission critic services of our architecture. I was also deeply involved in the operations and delivery of these systems in large scale. As a result of its move to Microservices, SoundCloud became a well-known player in this space. While there, I was also a frequent speaker at conferences throughout the work on the topics of DevOps, Continuous Delivery and Microservices.

Steven Flenory, Studio Director of Agora Games
Vitor was an amazing engineer while on our team. He was very focused, dedicated, and always cared about the quality of his work. Furthermore, Vitor always had his eyes open for new work or the ability to help someone on his team. It's rare to find an engineer that is so considerate and passionate about not only his work, but the work of everyone involved in his project. I'd recommend Vitor for any position.
Clarke Fowley, COO at Odd Networks
Having Vitor on our team was awesome. He always had an optimistic approach to development tasks, and often delivered above and beyond on each project. Vitor's skill set was very valuable; he could handle frequent requests for small tasks in a tight timeframe, yet he was also capable of completing long term projects on his own accord. He was a great Ruby developer, and completed a major upgrade of one of our production web applications to Rails 3.1 in stride. Besides being multilingual, Vitor was great to communicate with daily even as a remote worker. I really enjoyed working with him and recommend Vitor highly!
