At DigitalOcean I held different positions, ranging from Technical Leadership to People Management. While being a technical leader for the Support Tools team, I introduced the techniques of Continuous Delivery and set up the initial CI/CD platform that was later adopted by other groups in the product engineering organization. I also introduced a model used to improve the operability of our production apps, which made it possible for a small team to support a fairly complex Microservices architecture.
Currently, I manage the Network Product engineering team, that is responsible for all product facing network aspects of our platform. I am responsible for the delivery aspects of our products, as well as hiring, managing and growing our team of full-stack engineers, working remotely, distributed across the United States and Germany. As part of the Networking pillar, I was able to deliver key projects successfully, such as Load Balancers, Let's Encrypt SSL Certificates, Firewalls, and internal mission-critical systems.
I led some of its Backend and Core Engineering teams during the transition from a monolithic to a microservices-based architecture. I was a hands-on Manager and Tech Lead taking care of high traffic and mission critic services of our architecture. I was also deeply involved in the operations and delivery of these systems in large scale. As a result of its move to Microservices, SoundCloud became a well-known player in this space. While there, I was also a frequent speaker at conferences throughout the work on the topics of DevOps, Continuous Delivery and Microservices.
I was part of the application team responsible for the central piece of SoundCloud's infrastructure that previously constituted the product in its entirety. Also coordinated releases and managed contributions from other developers in the company, according to the architectural vision we had for that system. I started as a Software Engineer for that group and eventually would become its Engineering Manager
