Technical Operations Manager
In the growth of Professional Technologies, I took on additional roles to help manage our support staff. While I continued to directly support our client base, I also managed the day-to-day operations of the call center, onsite scheduling of techs, and project management.
Planning of data center migration; moving from in-house server racks to local data center.
Planning of Wireless Internet Service Provider implementation; started a franchise of a WISP out of Arkansas. I designed our roof mount sleds and network design on the central hub.
Network & Server Specialist
Professional Technologies is a regional Managed Services Provider and IT Consultant, with a client base spanning Missouri, Illinois, and Arkansas. They specialize in remote support and network management, with some clients using hosted servers both in-house @ ProTech and in the cloud. I originally started working for ProTech as a computer repair tech, however my technical abilities helped move the company in the MSP market as well as taking on more IT consulting roles. Eventually when we hired more staff we added server hosting and a call center for remote support, while I maintained our internal and external networks and management systems.
Emergency server reconstruction for a lawfirm; doing P2V for Hyper-V, and deploying RDS in under 12 hours when the lawfirm was removed from their building.
Migrate in-house physical servers to Hyper-V cluster with SAN backend.
Coordinated 800+ user migration from POP3/SMTP server to Exchange Server 2010, with users in 11 different locations.
L'Hote Company is a server hosting and IT consulting company, formerly based out of Columbia, MO. My main job was some onsite IT support for a medical imaging group in Columbia, Mo and server hosting support for remote clients. I did a lot of network and server administration for the medical imaging group, including setting up a DICOM server to route images to different facilities based on tags in the images. I did some server configuration for the server hosting part of the company, but that was mostly managed by one of the owners, so my main responsibility was helping users get connected on new PCs or setting up new user profiles.
MicroTek was a PC repair and IT consulting company in Jefferson City, Mo. While employeed I mainly performed computer repair work (both onsite and in-house), with some customer consulting and network repair work. I have heard they closed due to the owners health.
I worked as a civilian intern in the Network Support Center. During my time as an intern I helped the Network Admins for each base to discover and close security vulnerabilities, as well as document hardware and software for each workstation on their remote networks.
